We're not astronauts.
But we believe everyone deserves to sit like one.
Where space science meets everyday comfort.
In the 1970s, NASA's Skylab astronauts made an unexpected discovery. Free from gravity's constant pull, the human body doesn't relax into a straight line — it settles into a trunk-to-thigh angle of about 128 degrees, the posture where the musculoskeletal system rests most naturally. No stress on the muscles. Vertebrae aligned. Easier breathing. Better circulation.
It turns out weightlessness taught us more about comfort than gravity ever did.
That discovery has quietly shaped ergonomic design ever since — informing everything from office chairs to car seats designed for real, everyday comfort. We named our company Comfonaut because that's exactly the space we live in: the place where space science meets everyday comfort.
We believe your desk and chair shouldn't just hold you — they should support you the way your body was designed to be supported, angle by angle, joint by joint. So every piece we bring to Comfonaut is chosen with that same principle NASA discovered decades ago: the body works best when it's not fighting anything. Not gravity. Not bad design. Not a chair that wasn't built with you in mind.
“We became obsessed with a simple question: why do some workspaces make you feel sharp and energised, while others quietly drain you? The answer turned out to be deeply scientific — and almost nobody was talking about it.
Comfonaut exists because we couldn’t find a single place that took workspace ergonomics as seriously as we do. So we built it.”
